Noah Webster (1758-1843) is perhaps the most renowned American scholar. His blue-backed spelling books helped many generations of Americans to learn the reading basics. Besides of being an important author and educator, he is most remembered due to his American Dictionary of the English Language, which is still used today, although with some updatings and modifications.

A less-known Webster's writing is his version of the Holy Bible. In Webster's times, the Scriptures were used in schools as an aid for learning how to read and write, but King James', which was almost the only version used, was not very suitable due to its use of outdated and inadequate language. Having this in mind, Webster took the King James' Version as a basis and undertook the writing of an updated version, which is now offered by BibleMaximum as a module for its BibleMax software. All the Bible modules for BibleMax fully interact with each other and with the References and Commentaries modules installed. You can, for example, read a comentary about the verse you are reading just by clicking on the respective hyperlink.
You can get this important Bible version, along with many other translations, commentaries, devotionals and other texts by ordering the free CD and paying only the duplication, printing, postage and handling costs.
